How to enable and disable privacy mode on the Yale door lock
Privacy mode on the Yale door lock is a feature that allows users from inside the home to deactivate the keypad and sound - providing a secure and silent lock for the users inside the home. To activate and deactivate this feature follow the steps below.
Go to the Yale door lock from the inside of the home.
Locate the privacy mode button located under the thumb turn.
Press and hold the privacy button for a duration of four beeps.
This will deactivate the keypad as well as the sound. This will not allow anyone using a user code to enter from the outside.
To deactivate privacy mode, unlock the door lock from the outside using a key, or unlock the door using the thumb turn.
What to do if Yale door lock does not respond, and the door lock is locked and inaccessible
If the door lock is unresponsive, and the door lock is locked and inaccessible, the lock may be in privacy mode. If this is the case, use the application or the master code to unlock the door and access the home.
The batteries may also be dead, if the batteries are dead, use a 9 volt battery in the convenient aux power port, then use the code to open the door and replace the batteries.
